Computer Applications had more responses to their business letters. Fox Coulter recieved drum sticks and decals from Vic Firth and Elijah Newman received a letter, coupon and stickers from Warheads.

Congratulations to Ben Patchett for writing an excellent business letter in his Computer Applications class. The letter he mailed to Dive Bomb Industries grabbed their attention and Ben received a response along with a Dive Bomb Industries hat just in time for his birthday!
FBLA traveled to Springfield to compete in the Illinois FBLA Conference at the end of March. 1,775 FBLA members from 93 Chapters competed in different business related events. Our Chapter came home with multiple awards.
-The Oblong Chapter received 3rd place in Money Raised per Capita for Alzheimer's Awareness
-Our Chapter received Silver Level for Champion Chapter events
-Cameron Davis and Mason Correll received special Intern Recognition
In testing and presentations:
-Cameron Davis placed 9th in Accounting I
-Niah Willhite received 4th in Introduction to FBLA
-Garrett Smith received 6th in Introduction to Information Technology
-Andrew Miller received 3rd in Introduction to Business Procedures
-Hunter Fitts received 10th in Introduction to Business Presentations
-Jorie Weber received 7th in Impromptu Speaking
Because they were in the top 4 in their competition AND scored the minimum percentage needed on the event tests, Andrew and Niah have been invited to compete at FBLA National Conference in Anaheim, California in June.
OES track competed yesterday at Effingham in a 6 team meet. We had several place in top 5.
For 8th grade girls, Ava Pfeifer placed 2nd in discus. Gracie Russell placed 5th in discus, 5th in hurdles, and 5th in long jump. The 8th grade girls placed 5th over all.
For 7th grade girls, Abby Davis placed 3rd in discus, 3rd in hurdles, and 4th in 400m.
For 8th grade boys, JW Swaner placed 5th in long jump. Hayden Utterback placed 3rd in discus. Noah Akers placed 5th in 100m, 3rd in hurdles, and 2nd in high jump. The 8th grade boys placed 4th over all.
For 7th grade boys, Case Beucherie placed 5th in 400m and Colten Troth placed 3rd in high jump.
