To make OES after-school pick-up go smoother, if you pick up your child(ren) MOST days, please fill out the form at the link below. We will get a sign made for your vehicle. https://forms.gle/yrqDysBbfcj4wYwK8
Some additional tips for quicker pick-ups after school:
*Move all the way up in line.
*Don't arrive too early if you have older students. PreK and Kindergarten dismisses first. Junior High does not dismiss until 3:05 pm.
*Stay in your vehicle.
*Be patient.
Thanks for your help making after-school pick-ups smoother!

Grade School Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures-
Drop-Off: Please do not drop off your students before 7:45 a.m. Pre-K students are the only students that should be dropped off on the East side of the building.
Pick-Up: Please remember that Kindergarten and Pre-K students are not dismissed until 2:55. The west side of the main parking lot is reserved for Pre-K parents/guardians that are picking up their children. If you do not have a student in Pre-K, please stay in the pick-up line. Students will be brought out to you. Please do NOT get out of your vehicle. -Please travel west on Missouri Street and enter the pick-up line on Jefferson Street. This keeps traffic from being backed up on Route 33.

Reminder! We can't wait to see everyone!

Greetings Panthers!
On behalf of the faculty and staff at OHS, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to school. Our first day of student attendance is Tuesday, August 20th, and we will have a 2:00 p.m. dismissal. We ask that you access your schedule in Skyward before the start of school, but we will provide schedules for students that need one in the media center.
Along with accessing your schedule, we are asking students to pick up their Chromebooks before school starts. Freshmen and new students will receive their Chromebooks at Freshman Orientation on Monday, August 19th from 10:00-11:30 a.m. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors can pick up their Chromebooks on Friday, August 16th or Monday, August 19th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the High School Media Center.
Students that are taking Welding, Telecom or online courses through Lincoln Trail College will start on Thursday, August 15th. Students that are taking Health OCC will start on Tuesday, August 20th. Students that are taking Building Trades, Child Care, or Auto Mechanics will begin on Wednesday, August 21st. Since these courses are off campus, students are required to ride the bus transportation provided by the school district. The bus leaves at 7:30 a.m. from the Breezeway.
I’m looking forward to a great school year and please feel free to contact me at 618-592-4235 (school), 618-354-1463 (cell), or ajulian@oblongschools.net if you have any questions.
E+R=O
Again this year, a main focus at OHS will be to practice an equation called E+R=O, which stands for Event + Response = Outcome. This equation explains that it is how we respond to the events in our lives that determines the outcomes that we get. Over the past few years, I have become increasingly sure that servant leadership is the best way to motivate and challenge high school students. My goal is to serve OHS students by not only holding you accountable, but by letting you know how important you are and how much our school cares about you. We will discuss E+R=O in more depth during our class meetings on the 20th.
Sincerely,
Andy Julian
Oblong High School Principal
