Staff Spotlight!
OES Track recently competed at the Ed Loeb Invitational at Lawrenceville. There were 7 teams competing. Our athletes performed quite well.
For 7th grade girls, Abby Davis placed 2nd in the 400m, 2nd in the hurdles, 6th in shot put, and 3rd in discus. The 7th grade girls team (only 2 girls) placed 4th overall.
For 8th grade girls, Ava Pfeifer placed 1st in discus, 7th in shot put, and 4th in the 400m dash. Gracie Russell placed 3rd in discus, 1st in long jump, 1st in hurdles, and 3rd in the 800m run. The 8th grade girls (only 2 girls) placed 3rd overall.
For 7th grade boys, Case Beucherie placed 6th in the 100m dash, 2nd in the 400m dash, and 4th in discus. Colten Troth placed 3rd in the 800m run, 6th in the hurdles, 5th in long jump and 2nd in high jump. Aiden Potts placed 5th in the mile. Gavin Meese placed 5th in hurdles. Clayton Shilder placed 5th in shot put and 3rd in discus. The 7th grade boys placed 3rd overall.
For 8th grade boys, Noah Akers placed 1st in the hurdles, 2nd in the 100m dash, and 1st in the high jump. JW Swaner placed 3rd in the 100m dash and 3rd in the long jump. Gunner Fitts placed 4th in the hurdles, 3rd in the 200m dash and 4th in the 800m run. Dexter Potts placed 5th in the 400m dash and 1st in the mile. Ridley Slane placed 2nd in the mile. Hayden Utterback placed 3rd in discus. The 4x100m relay placed 3rd. The 8th grade boys placed 1st overall.

Computer Applications had more responses to their business letters. Fox Coulter recieved drum sticks and decals from Vic Firth and Elijah Newman received a letter, coupon and stickers from Warheads.

Overall, the Oblong Math Team placed 11th in the state, missing the Top Ten by only 1 point! We are so proud of you Oblong Math Team! It's a great day to be a Panther!
