
You've got to check out our high school modern music class's music festival coming to town in May! It's going to be an awesome day filled with local musicians, artists, and food trucks. All proceeds of this event are used to improve the OHS Modern Music class.


FBLA spent the weekend at Springfield at the Illinois FBLA State Conference. There were a total of 1,800 FBLA members from across the state competing in business related events with 1,500 of them attending the conference. Oblong High School sent 8 students to compete in objective test areas and performance areas.
OHS came home with a few awards. Our chapter received 1st place in the Presidential Membership Award division for our increase in membership from last year's membership. The chapter also received Silver recognition for involvement in the Champion Chapter events throughout the year. Jorie Weber placed 9th in the Impromptu Speaking event and Andrew Miller and Garrett Smith placed 8th in the Computer Gaming and Simulation event. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work this year in FBLA!





Jr. High state testing starts tomorrow!


Today the Oblong High School math team competed at the state competition in Bloomington, IL.
The Algebra II team placed 9th with Rowan & Maggie Bailey, Will Wilson and Cameron Davis.
The Calculus team placed 4th with Landon Baker, Ethan Dhom, Ava Manuel and Joey Nichols.
The Calculator team placed 3rd with Ethan Dhom, Landon Baker, Will Wilson, Cameron Davis, Conner Pinkston, Hailyn Hays, Jackson Ridlen and Mylo Bay.
Our Orals team placed for the first time since 2012. Ava Manuel and Maggie Bailey placed 7th.
The overall team brought home the 9th place trophy today!!

Congratulations to Jorie Weber for advancing to finals in Impromptu Speaking at the Illinois FBLA State Leadership Conference. Jorie will compete today at 10:30am for a chance to advance to the National FBLA Conference in July.

State testing at OHS is just around the corner ... April 10!

Your student should be bringing home their glasses today OR tomorrow. Please make sure to remove these from their backpack so they will be prepared for Monday! Reminder-school will NOT be in session on Monday, April 8th.

Kindergarten Screenings are coming up!


OHS will be having a One-Hour Lunch on Thursday, April 4th for students that meet the attendance incentive of 3 or fewer absences and 3 or fewer tardies from February 26th-March 28th. Students will be notified on Tuesday, April 2nd if they meet the incentive.
One-Hour Lunch Schedule: We will use the following schedule on Thu. April 4th.
1st period: 8:06-8:54
2nd period: 8:57-9:45
3rd period: 9:48-10:36
5th period: 10:39-11:33
4th period: 11:36-12:00
Lunch: 11:33-12:33 or 12:00-12:33 (Lunch in the cafeteria will start serving at 11:33)
6th period: 12:36-1:24
7th period: 1:27-2:15
8th period: 2:18-3:06
