Letter regarding today's lockdown:

Parents and Community Members,
At this time, the lockdown at the High School and Grade School has been lifted. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time. As always, our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. This matter is still under investigation by the Oblong Police Department and Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.

I want to provide you with an update. Both buildings are secure. All students and staff are safe. At this time, we are still under a lockdown. All students and staff have been served lunch.
We will continue the lockdown while the police investigate the situation and give us the all clear. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

OBLONG HIGH SCHOOL

The fall book fair will take place Monday, September 19-Thursday September 22. Other than Open House, the book fair is only open to students during school hours.

Children's Orthopedic Clinic
The Oblong Marching Panthers had an awesome performance at the Newton Fall Festival today!


Students at OES learned all about bus safety and practiced a bus evacuation drill on Wednesday! Way to go!
OES will be hosting the first round of IESA Softball Regionals on September 7th @ 4p.m.. Oblong will be playing Neoga.

This morning, Mrs. Riley's 1st Grade class practiced several different ways to tie our shoes as a part of Fun Friday. After they practiced, if they were able to show that they could tie their shoes, then they were given membership into Shoe Tying Club! Membership includes having their name and picture displayed in our classroom, a certificate, and the ability to help their friends tie their shoes. These 6 students were given membership into Shoe Tying Club this morning!

No School Monday, September 5th in observance of Labor Day. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Today was "High Five Friday"! OHS Volleyball players came to the OES to greet the students with a high five this morning! We hope everyone has a great weekend!

Jr. high students got to pick from two new electives this year. These electives are "Book Club" and "Fitness and Nutrition". These students are enjoying the nice weather and learning "Spike Ball" and reading their book club book!
