Week of March 3, 2008

The team advanced to the sectional competition at EIU on March 6, 2008.  At the sectional competition the entire team received 3rd place.  The team will advance to the state competition at University of Illinois on April 14, 2008.

WYSE stands for World Wide Youth in Science and Engineering.  Students take tests in 2 of the following subject areas:  Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Computers, and Engineering Graphics.  WYSE team is coached by Mary Patchett. 

Oblong High School WYSE team also won 1st at the regional competition at Olney Central College on February 6, 2008. 

Other News

• The Scholastic Bowl Regionals have been postponed until 3-5-08 at 4:30 in Hutsonville
  
• Cultural Arts trip has been postponed to next Wednesday, 3-12-08.
  
• WYSE Team Sectional qualifiers will compete on Thursday.
  
• FCCLA will have a meeting on Thursday after school.
  
• Winter Sports Awards are on March 11th at 7:00.
  
• Cheerleading tryouts are on March 14th.
