The
regular meeting of the Board of Education of Oblong Community Unit School
District #4 was held on July 20, 2009 in the Elementary Library. The meeting was called to order at 8:00
p.m. by President Poehler with the following physically present: Bailey, Pinkston, Sparks, Higgins,
Musgrave, Pusey, and Poehler.

Motion by
Pusey and seconded by Pinkston to
adopt consent agenda items as presented. Roll call vote: Bailey - yea,
Pinkston - yea, Sparks - yea, Higgins - yea, Musgrave – yea, Pusey - yea,
Poehler - yea. Consent Agenda items: To approve regular, and closed session minutes of June,
2009; financial report of June, 2009; and payment of July, 2009 board bills;
authorize Fritz Wheeler to be in charge of the District in the absence of the
Superintendent. Motion carried.
Motion by Sparks and seconded by Bailey to authorize Superintendent to
advertise for bids on the sale of a 1990 GMC 59 passenger school bus. Roll call vote: Bailey – yea, Pinkston –
yea, Sparks – yea, Higgins – yea, Musgrave – yea, Pusey
– yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by
Bailey and seconded by Higgins to approve bids for diesel fuel from Bolin
Transport for the 2009-2010 school year.

Motion by
Pinkston and seconded by Sparks to approve bids for milk from Prairie Farms,
bakery from Interstate Brands, and tires from Best One of Robinson for the
2009-2010 school year. Roll call vote: Bailey - yea, Pinkston – yea,
Sparks - yea, Higgins - yea, Musgrave – yea, Pusey - yea, Poehler - yea. Motion
carried.
Motion by Pusey and seconded by Sparks to approve the High School Student
Handbook for the 2009-2010 school year with the following updates: Reverse 911 information; Attendance;
Non-credit status, Saturday School Information, Graduation Requirements, Early
Graduation; Guidelines for Disruptive Devices and Guidelines for participating
in Graduation Ceremony. Roll call

Motion by Musgrave and seconded by Bailey to approve District fees,
registration fees, admission prices, breakfast and lunch prices as presented. Roll call
vote: Bailey - yea, Pinkston – yea, Sparks - yea, Higgins - yea, Musgrave
– yea, Pusey - yea, Poehler - yea.

by Pusey and seconded by Higgins to approve as presented the High School and
Grade School Athletic Codes and Administrative Guidelines for Employees for the
2009-2010 school year. Roll call

Motion
by Sparks and seconded by Poehler to approve an agreement with Terry Wiseman
Pontiac-Buick-GMC Trucks, to provide the DriverŐs Education car for the
2009-2010 school year as presented.

Motion by Bailey and seconded by Musgrave to open all the closed session
minutes from January 2009 through June 2009. Roll call vote: Bailey -

Pusey - yea, Poehler - yea. Motion carried.

by Sparks and seconded by Higgins to go into closed session at 10:32 PM to
consider information regarding appointment, employment, or dismissal of an

Higgins - yea, Musgrave – yea, Pusey - yea, Poehler - yea.

School Assistant Football Coach. Roll call
