A special meeting of the Board of Education of Oblong Community Unit School District #4 was held on June 28, 2006 in the Elementary Library. The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by President Poehler with the following present: Smith, Meese, Bilyew, Pinkston, and Poehler.

Recognition & Comments

Motion by Bilyew and seconded by Smith to accept proposal from Blue Cross Blue Shield for Employees Health Insurance for Oblong Community Unit School District #4 effective September 1, 2006. Roll call vote: Smith – yea, Meese – yea, Bilyew – yea, Pinkston – yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by Meese and seconded by Pinkston to go into closed session at 8:46 PM to consider information regarding appointment, employment, or dismissal of an employee, and negotiations. Roll call vote: Smith – yea, Meese – yea, Bilyew – yea, Pinkston – yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by Poehler and seconded by Smith to return to open session at 9:08 PM. Roll call vote: Smith – yea, Meese – yea, Bilyew – yea, Pinkston – yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by Meese and seconded by Pinkston to approve closed session minutes of 6/28/06. Roll call vote: Smith – yea, Meese – yea, Bilyew – yea, Pinkston – yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by Poehler and seconded by Meese to hire Ken Strieby as the Unit Four instrumental instructor for the 2006-2007 school year. Roll call vote: Smith – yea, Meese – yea, Bilyew – yea, Pinkston – yea, Poehler – yea.

Motion by Meese and seconded by Smith to adjourn at 9:10 PM. Roll call vote:
