OBLONG COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL
DISTRICT #4

            The organizational meeting of the Board of Education of Oblong Community Unit School District #4 was held on May 10, 2007 in the Elementary Library.  The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by President Poehler with the following physically present:  Meese, Cross, Harris, Pinkston, Bailey, Sparks, and Poehler.

Seating of New Board Members and Reorganization:

     President Poehler administered the oath of office for the newly elected board members.

     Motion by Harrris and seconded by Cross to adjourn sine die at 8:04 pm.  Roll call vote:  Meese – yea,  Cross – yea,  Harris– yea,  Pinkston – yea,  Bailey – yea,  Sparks – yea,  Poehler – yea.  Motion carried.

     Motion by Sparks and seconded by Meese that Mr. Price be appointed President Protem.  Roll call vote:  Meese – yea, Cross – yea, Harris – yea, Pinkston – yea, Bailey – yea, Sparks – yea, Poehler – yea.  Motion carried.

Nominations for office of Board President:

     Darrell Meese was nominated for office of President by John Cross.  Ted Poehler was nominated for the office of President by Darrell Meese. Ted Poehler received a majority of the votes cast and was elected president of the Board of Education. 

Nominations for office of Vice President:

     Darrell Meese was nominated for office of Vice President by Cris Harris.  There being only one nomination for office of Vice President, the chair declared Darrell Meese elected Vice President by acclamation.

Nominations for office of Secretary:

     Cris Harris was nominated for office of Board Secretary by Darrell Meese.  There being only one nomination for office of Secretary, the chair declared Cris Harris elected Secretary by acclamation.

  Motion by Pinkston and seconded by Meese to approve dates, times, and locations of regular meetings for 2007-2008.  Roll call vote:  Meese – yea, Cross – yea, Harris – yea, Pinkston  – yea, Bailey – yea, Sparks – yea, Poehler – yea.  Motion carried.

     Motion by Harris and seconded by Meese to adjourn at 8:23 pm.  Roll call vote: Meese – yea, Cross – yea, Harris – yea, Pinkston – yea, Bailey – yea, Sparks – yea, Poehler – yea.
